• Forma Subject + had been + Verb-ing. Exemplu: She had been studying for hours before she felt tired.
• Utilizare principală Arată o acțiune care a durat o perioadă în trecut, înainte de un alt eveniment trecut, și subliniază durata acestei acțiuni. Exemplu: He was exhausted because he had been working all day.
• Diferența față de Past Perfect Simple Past Perfect Simple se concentrează pe rezultatul unei acțiuni terminate în trecut (e.g., They had finished dinner), în timp ce Past Perfect Continuous se concentrează pe durata acțiunii care a dus la un rezultat sau eveniment ulterior din trecut (e.g., They had been discussing for hours before they reached a conclusion).
